Located in the north of the Alpilles, this property is home to a large family. The project was born from the desire to open this old traditional mas, both on the layout of the rooms on the ground floor, as expectations inside / outside.
South side, large openings in the load-bearing wall between kitchen and dining room have found their extension to the outside with the creation of large windows that elevate the perspectives on the garden.
Always in the South, a summer kitchen had to find its functional link with different spaces to invest, according to the time, the weather, the mood … a big awning comes to supplement these places to occupy, for a shelter or simply the shadow? Its size is generous to accommodate the whole tribe and even more.
In the floors, it is a complete rehabilitation that is projected, especially with the investment of attics that existed only through access by scale. A flight of stairs has been created to serve them and “privatize” them for girls.
On the first floor, all the bathrooms and bedrooms have been reorganized according to the standards of the 21st century; which has made it possible to add thermal and acoustic comfort amenities, often frail in old farmhouses.
Concerning the surroundings, it is the main entrance and the garden which have been completely reconditioned by Benjamin Moricelly, with the opportunity of the complementary acquisition of ground which reinforces the use of principal residence of this beautiful house.
